My bedtime story some nights ago was a lecture at MIT by Thomas L Friedman on his recent book The World is Flat. (Okay, so I am a tad bit weird!)
Pointing to the obvious, Friedman makes conclusions that are genius: He talks about how the last two eras of globalization were moved and shaped by Westerners, powerful countries, and large companies. But, he says, in this present era of globalization, the players are not Western; they are from everywhere, they are “every color of the rainbow.” Instead of countries or companies dictating the direction of people, it is the small groups of people make things happen!
Bottom line: In our world today, the power and potential of individuals and small groups is ad infinitum! One person, one small group, can make a big difference!
