My scribbles while meditating . . .
“Let the earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kind.” — Genesis 1:11
God created plants on Day 3 and then the sun on Day 4. Since sunlight is essential for nearly all vegetation, this sequence always puzzled me. Why not create the sun first?
And then it hit me (surely I’m not the first to think of it, but it struck me like a ton of bricks): of course God knew that science dictates the sun should come first. But when He ignored that indisputable fact, He was declaring: “I am the greater Light that transcends all other light. Vegetation, you may die without the sun, but with Me, you don’t need the sun.”
For me, this says: life feels secure when all my necessities are in place—sunlight, food, health, loved ones. But if all of it were stripped away in a moment, I would still have the Source of every necessity. And that Source is enough to sustain me.
