My scribbles while meditating . . .
“And God saw that the light was good.” — Genesis 1:4
At the end of Day One, there was only light. Without light, the rest of creation would have been left in the dark, unable to see the construction challenge God had taken on. (Maybe He could have kept the lights off for a dramatic reveal!)
But it’s as if God turned to those watching and said: “Do you see what I’m working with? You see a blob of nothing. I see full potential in My hands—as I shape this into a garden paradise.”
When no one else can see the end from the “right now”—my potential in this moment—God sees. He smiles at every incomplete project, every imperfect person, and says: “I see a little bit of Myself in you. And that is enough.”
Just 1/6th of the way through creation, we find God delighting in what is unfinished. And He delights in me too—not only in who I will become, but in who I am today.
